Win A New Ipod Shuffle

Now It’s Your Turn….Show Us Your Stuff!

You know all of the great information we have given you over the past few weeks? Like the real and practical stuff, not the pie-in-the-sky theoretical stuff? We want to know what you have done, how and why. And, most importantly, we want to know your results.

How are you marketing during this so-called recession and still managing to rock it!? Some areas you may have focused on could include:

Your Mindset
Example: I stopped watching the news and listening to negative talk radio. I re-evaluated the people in my life and stopped associating with the negative and toxic ones.

Customer Service
Example: I called into my Customer Service number as if I were a client and I listened to the way my representatives handles a difficult problem. I made some changes in how we react and respond to these situations in the future.

Connecting With Your Target Customer/Market
Example: I started a forum on my website for existing customers to use for questions, challenges and requests. The forum is password-protected and for existing customers only.

Honesty In Your Business
Example: Salespeople in my company had been “stretching the truth” and I had been getting hit with high refund rates. I re-wrote the sales pages in question to make them more in line with realistic experience.

And we need some proof of your smashing success stemming from taking action….your proof can be in the form of a video, an email you sent, statistics, a new product…something you can give us to prove what you did and why. We expect the competition to be pretty tight here, so we need to make sure that we are able to verify all of the responses and results.

What do you have to lose? Not much…unless you count more money in your pocket.

We are going to be notifying people via email, so make sure you are on our list (sign up to the right). Your entry, which must be submitted as a comment at the bottom of this blog post, must contain your name + website address.

Deadline for submission for this week’s contest is Friday, April 24 at 5pm Eastern U.S. time.

I’ve used every scrap of news, every sound byte from talk radio, everything I can about this recession to show clients how bad it is… and how they can profit from it. The worse it is, the more they stand to gain with the methods I show them.

I remind them that there are opportunities now that will never present themselves again. How there are more millionaires made in bad times than good. That no niches are dead… just slow, so we’ll have to work harder.

And by establishing yourself now, you’ll emerge the business of choice, dominating your niche when the good times come again.

Here are some of the results:
    1. Product launch with “Seven Figure REO:” Million dollar launch that sold out in six days. Sold client long copy, autoresponder series, and web-site design.
    2. Product launch with “Short Sales Riches:” Still going strong after six months. Sold client video script, squeeze and sales page copy, two sets of autoresonders, affiliate pages, affiliate emails, and a continuity program where I write 3 emails per week ongoing to market to list.
    3. Began writing a weekly email for multi-million dollar trading company. Within 3 months, became lead writer.
    4. Wrote one email for a trader that boosted his response 300% for his flagship product

I’m not saying this to brag, but to show what the right approach to this recession can bring your clients. I am actually humbled by my success. I owe much to the marketing and copywriting strategies I have learned by being a student of Dr. Kilstein. 14 months ago, I had no skills, no clients, and now I’m on the brink of six figures.

12 year old daughter wanted to sell shirts to benefit child waiting for a heart. People told her no. She went ahead. Put on website. Sold 58 shirts to benefit family as little girl passed away. Still selling shirts!

  3. Simon Says:

    1) I actually put my prices up by 30% in November, just as things were getting rough. Didn’t harm sales and gave me extra cash for marketing.

    2) Added extra value to my products over the past few months as part of a focus on customer retention.

    3) Closer, more transparent, contact with customers, so they get to know me personally.

    4) Huge focus on customer service - going out of my way to help them and answering the phone and returning calls as soon as possible, even on weekends. (Contrasts with a competitor who “disappears” on them.)

    5) Re-invigorated my client newsletter - improved the content for current clients and prospects. Offering real value there. Focus on making their business lives better.

    6) Entering new niches that are feeling pain in the recession.

    7) Putting focus on recession in customer attraction special reports.

    8) Spending more on marketing now, when others are spending less, in an effort to grab market share.

    9) Stop watching CNN, etc. Need I say more? (And the converse, read success stories from people such as Dan Kennedy carefully and learn from them.)

    10) Have a mindset where I learn to *relish* the chance of beating the recession.
